The February installation of our group's Positive Mental Wellbeing News Roundup series! At the end of every month we bring you the latest in mental health news to enjoy. We aim to document the progress being made with psychological research and the global efforts to raise awareness of and improve mental health.

• Music therapy seems to help children with autism to communicate more easily and improve symptoms such as repetitive behaviours

• 100k has been donated to the UK leading provider of therapeutic counselling in schools in response to worsening mental health in London

• A new wearable system has been created that can detect increased levels of cortisol in sweat, which could help when treating high stress and burnout

• 40 NHS mental health hubs will be implemented to help medical staff. Staff will be able to ring the hub for advice and referrals for mental health treatment, designed to mitigate the severe toll the pandemic has had on mental health

• A new app 'Focusmate' assigns you to another home worker around the globe, who you then work quietly with for an hour. It may help alleviate the loneliness experienced by those working from home
