The Exeter University Student Wellbeing homepage, which can direct you to different services and information. This is the primary, recommended professional mental health service offered by the University.

 

You can also book an appointment from their page, but note that the waiting times for an initial appointment can be long. Please refer to the below listed services that could serve as alternatives.

A confidential listening service run by students who are trained to actively listen to any of your concerns. They can be reached by phone, Skype, and email. Their details can be found on their website or in the Mental Health Helpline section in this document.

The University’s web page for eating difficulties, which includes information and links to different services/groups. You can book an Eating Difficulties support session from here.

Much like our group, this is a student-led peer group created to provide support for fellow students dealing with eating difficulties. They hold sessions on Mondays from 7pm in the A&V Conference Room (Devonshire House) on campus.

Talkworks png.png

A free, confidential NHS talking service for people aged 18+ in Devon (excluding Plymouth). They can help you to feel better by giving you the tools and techniques to improve your mental and physical wellbeing.

 

You can be referred to the service via your GP. They also have a self-referral form on their website that you can use to refer yourself for mental health support. This is a good alternative for people who find themselves on the waiting list for Student Wellbeing!

A local charity service based in Exeter that provides support and advice for LGBT+ and questioning people. They offer a confidential helpline and counselling service, for which there is a self-referral form on their website you can use. Their helpline is staffed by trained LGBT+ people who are non-judgemental, and who work to strong standards of confidentiality, client-protection, and positive listening.
