After hearing so much about them, I decided to start my own Bullet Journal at the start of this year. I’d never really been into journaling or writing a diary before, but it wasn’t long before I fell in love with using my bullet journal and it quickly became a part of my everyday routine! Here are a few of my favourite things about bullet journaling
1) Allows you to stay organised in a fun and creative way
- I don’t know about you, but my Uni course doesn’t allow for much creativity, so I find journaling to be a really therapeutic, creative outlet when I need a break from my studies.
2) Frees up headspace
- Being able to write everything down in one place really helps me stay on top of tasks and appointments
- I also feel a lot more accountable when I have written something down and seeing a task on paper makes me want to tick it off and get the job done.
3) Allows you to track aspects of your life that might have been previously neglecting
- Maybe you’re always feeling tired, or aren’t sure if you’re drinking enough water each day? Bullet journals make it easy to keep an eye on lifestyle choices to help yu stay feeling at your best!
4) They’re completely customisable
- I remember feeling slightly daunted opening the blank pages of my new bullet journal, but I soon fell in love with testing out new ideas and laying the journal out in a way which would fit my lifestyle.
- Why wait until the new year? A bullet journal can be started at any time and can be completed as little or often as you want.
5) Enjoyable technology free activity
- Switching off from technology is definitely something I struggle with, so having a fun activity to do which doesn’t involve a screen is a great way to digitally detox.
- I find that journaling first thing in the morning and last thing at night is a great way to start and end the day, and allows me to take some time to concentrate on myself, rather than the outside world.
6) Something to look back on
- I love reminiscing about fun events I documented in my journal which I might have otherwise forgotten about.
- One of my favourite bullet journal spread ideas is ‘monthly highlights’ - making a note of your favourite memory, quote or even favourite meal cooked is a great way to document happy moments throughout the month.
